The F-150 Sport Package

Whether you are planning to put an F-150 in your driveway or you are watching them pass you on the highway and curious what each of the decals on the rear corner of the bed means, we are here to answer your question: What is the F-150 Sport package? While we are at it, we will even answer what the Special Edition package is.  

Unlike the XTR package, the Sport package is available on the XL, XLT and Lariat trims and maintains the same name at each trim level. One important note about the Sport package is that it goes hand-in-hand with the Special Edition package (also available on all three trims). While you can have a Sport package on a truck without having the Special Edition package, you are required to have the Sport Package when you order a  Special Edition Package on your F-150. 

XL Sport Appearance Package

Starting with the lowest trim level, you can upgrade the appearance of your F-150 XL with 

• 17” Silver-Painted Aluminum Wheels
• Body-colour front fascia
• Body-colour front and rear bumpers
• Box-side Decal (NA w/FX4 Off-Road pkg.)
• Fog Lamps

This package has been discontinued for the 2021 model year. 

XL STX Sport Appearance Special Edition Package

The Sport Appearance package and Special Edition package are combined for the XL trim. Unlike the higher trims, instead of the Sport Appearance package being required for the Special Edition package, the STX Package is required (see below). In the XL STX Sport Appearance Special Edition Package you will find

• 20” Unique Premium Tarnished Dark Painted Wheels 
• 275/55R 20 BSW A/S (4x2) 
• 275/55R BSW A/T (4x4)
• Box Side Decal
• Sport B/S Accent Stripe
• Chrome Exhaust Extension

You have the ability to make the package more unique by opting for unique black sport cloth 40/console/40 seats with flow-through console and steering column-mounted shifter with manual driver and passenger lumbar.

This package is also being discontinued for the 2021 model year. 

 

XL STX Appearance Package

Almost like a Special Edition package, this package requires the Sport Package. Uniquely it also requires the 2.7L EcoBoost engine. This package includes 

• 20” Machined-Aluminum Wheel with Magnetic Painted Pockets
• 275/55R20 BSW all-season tires (A/S) 4x2
• 275/55R20 BSW all-terrain tires (A/T) 4x4
• Grille – Unique, Ebony Black high-gloss mesh with body-colour surround
• Box Side STX Decal (NA with FX4 Off-Road Pkg.)
• Electronic Rear-window defroster
• Privacy Glass
• SYNC® 3 (Enhanced Voice Recognition Communications and Entertainment System with 911 Assist® and AppLink®; Includes 8” LCD Touchscreen in the center stack with swiping and pinch-to zoom capabilities, 4.2” productivity screen in instrument cluster, two (2) Smart Charging USB ports, compass and clock display)
• Unique Black Sport Cloth 40/20/40 split-bench seats with manual driver/passenger lumbar

You can make this package a better fit for how you use your truck by optioning to add unique black sport cloth 40/console/40 seats with flow-through console and steering column-mounted shifter, manual driver/passenger lumbar. 

For 2021, with the discontinuation of the Sport package, the only requirement will be the 2.7L V6 EcoBoost engine. This package will now be a hybrid of the STX Appearance Package and the Sport package and include

• 265/60R18 BSW all-season tires (A/S) (4x2) 
• 275/65R18 OWL all-season/all-terrain tires (A/S A/T) (4x4) 
• 18” Six-Spoke Machined-Aluminum wheels with Magnetic Painted Pockets
• Body-colour front and rear bumpers
• Fog Lamps
• Grille – Painted black honeycomb style with body-color surround
• Box Side STX Decal (NA with FX4 Off-Road Pkg)
• Electronic Rear-window defroster
• Privacy Glass
• Unique Black Sport Cloth 40/20/40 split bench seats with manual driver/passenger lumbar

Available options for 2021 will include 

• Unique Black Sport Cloth 40/Console/40 seats with Flow through Console and steering column mounted shifter, manual driver/passenger lumbar
• 20” Machined-Aluminum with Flash Grey Painted Pockets

XLT Sport Appearance Package

With your Sport package, you will also get some additional power. The one requirement for ordering this package is the 110V/400W outlet. On the 2020 F-150, the XLT Sport Appearance Package includes

• 18” 6-Spoke Machined-Aluminum Wheels with Magnetic high-gloss Painted Pockets 
• 265/60R18 BSW A/S (4x2) 
• 275/65R18 OWL A/S A/T (4x4) 
• 6” Magnetic Running Boards
• Grille – Two-bar style, Magnetic high-gloss
• Body-Colour Door and Tailgate Handles with body-colour bezel on side doors and black bezel on the tailgate, Front and Rear Bumpers, and Wheel-Lip Moldings
• Box side decal (replaced by FX4 decal if Off-Road Pkg. selected)
• Sport Cloth Seats with newly designed fabric insert, flow-through console and floor shifter
• Chrome single-tip exhaust
• Unique Interior Finish

The package can be customized to a degree by opting instead for LT27/65R18 OWL A/T tires or upgrading to the 20” 6-Spoke Dark Alloy Painted Wheel with 275/55R20 A/S (4x2) or 275/55R20 OWL A/T (4x4). 

For 2021, the main changes are that the step bars will be accent-colour instead of magnetic, the grille will be a dark two-bar style, ther is no mention of wheel lip mouldings for this package, and the upgrades will also include the option of 6” extended dark grey accent running boards. 

XLT Special Edition Package

As mentioned above, the Special Edition package must be ordered with the Sport package, so in addition to the content of the Sport Package (or instead of), the Special Edition Package includes 

• 20” Unique Premium Tarnished Dark Painted Wheels 
• 275/55R20 BSW all-season tires (4x2)
• 275/55R20 BSW all-terrain tires (4x4) 
• 6” Black Running Boards
• Halogen Headlamps with dark housing
• Grille – Unique, Ebony Black high-gloss mesh with body-colour surround
• Unique Hood & Bodyside decal
• Unique fender badge, Interior finish on the instrument panel and doors, single-tip exhaust, Special Edition seats with red accents and Steering wheel

This package will be discontinued for 2021. 

Lariat Sport Package

Unlike the XL and XLT Sport packages, there is nothing required to add the Sport Package to your Lariat. The package adds many of the same features as on the lower trims including

• 18” 6-Spoke Machined-Aluminum Wheels with Magnetic high-gloss Painted Pockets
• 265/60R18 BSW A/S (4x2)
• 275/65R18 OWL A/S A/T (4x4)
• 6” Magnetic Running Boards
• Body-colour front bumper; Body-colour rear bumper
• Grille – Two-bar style, Body-Coloured
• Body-colour Door Handles with Body-colour bezel
• Box side decal (replaced by FX4 decal is Off-Road Pkg. selected)
• Chrome Single-tip Exhaust
• Unique Interior Finish

You can customize the package to your liking with the following options

• LT275/65R18C OWL A/T
• 20” 6-Spoke Dark Alloy Painted Wheels (275/55R20 A/S (4x2), 275/55R20 BSW A/T (4x4))
• Power-deployable Running Boards (502A SuperCrew only). 

Lariat Special Edition Package

Following the trend, the Sport package is required for the Special Edition Package. In addition to or in place of Sport package items, the Special Edition package offers 

• 20” Unique Premium Tarnished Dark Painted Wheels
• 275/55R20 BSW all-season tires (4x2)
• 275/55R20 BSW all-terrain tires (4x4)
• 6” Black Running Boards
• Body-coloured front and rear bumpers
• Headlamps with dark housing (halogen on 501A; LED on 502A)
• Grille – Unique, Dark-Foundry mesh with body colour surround
• Unique Hood & Bodyside decals (NA with FX4 Off-Road Pkg.)
• Unique fender badge, finish on the instrument panel and doors, single-tip exhaust, Special Edition seats and steering wheel

The one additional option to this package is the power deployed running boards, which are only available with the 502A package and in the SuperCrew configuration. 

This package will be discontinued for 2021.
