Ford Maintenance Protection Plan

March 11th, 2017 by Sara

Ford Maintenance Protection Plan
Unless you have an electric vehicle, you're going to need to get an oil change at some point. Regardless of what vehicle you do have (gas/diesel/electric/hybrid) at some point a piece is going to wear out. With the Ford Maintenance plan (FMPP), the worry can be taken off your shoulders. You can prepay for the service so that when you need it, you don't have to worry about coming up with money, you can just get it done. It helps keep your vehicle in better condition, and it can even be transferred with your vehicle if you decide to sell it before the plan expires*.

What's Covered?
All scheduled maintenance that the owners manual suggests.
8 Wear items including:
brake pads and linings,
Brake rotors,
Shock absorbers,
Spark plugs,
Wiper blades,
Engine belts/coolant/hoses/clamps/hose seals,
light bulbs (with some exceptions),
Clutch disc (only on manual transmissions),

What's Not Covered?
LED headlights.
Tires.
Paint.
The battery.

Is It Right For You?
At Island Ford, our finance team can work with you to find the plan that suits your needs and driving habits. This means that plans can range anywhere from 1-8 years or 200,000 km.
If you exceed your service visits before the plan expires, the 8 wear items are still covered.
The plan can be bundled into your financing for your new vehicle.
The plan can be applied to vehicles that are less than 3 years old, or have less than 60,000 KM.
You're still covered even if you get the service done at a Ford dealer somewhere else in North America.
Selling the vehicle before the plan is done? Earn a prorated credit on what's left of your plan to put towards the purchase of a plan for your new vehicle.
Saves money: you pay today's wholesale prices for labour and parts. If the price goes up during the term of the plan, you don't have to pay more money, and you are paying less than if you got each service done individually.

Did You Fall In-Love With A Used Vehicle?
Used vehicles have a maintenance plan available too. The Limited Maintenance Plan is not as comprehensive, only including the oil and filter changes, a multi-point inspection and tire rotations, but it gives you some ease of mind. The plans range from 1-4 years or 80,000 km, whichever comes first. As with the FMPP, it can be bundled into the financing for your vehicle, and formatted to meet your driving patterns. By prepaying, you pay today's prices for the maintenance performed: If the price increases over the term, you don't have to worry about paying more.
